Graphic designer and comic artist Georg Nickel worked on Lurchi adventures for roughly ten and a half years, beginning with issue 64 in January 1977. He was buried at Waldfriedhof Senden on 12 August 2015. No publicly documented section, row or grave number is available.

Georg Nickel was born in Marktoberdorf on 25 June 1950 and died in Senden on 29 July 2015. After studying applied graphic design, he first worked in the orbit of designer Otl Aicher and later for the Schwäbische Zeitung newspaper in Leutkirch, producing drawings and cartoons.
His best-known body of work was the Lurchi adventure series. Nickel’s own run began with issue 64 in 1977. He developed stories and illustrations for about ten and a half years before leaving the series after issue 96. He ran a graphic-design studio in his adopted home of Senden and spent years shaping the visual identity, website and newsletter of an Ulm church congregation.
Nickel was buried at Waldfriedhof Senden on 12 August 2015.
